Need to lose weight fast? Want to speed up the effectiveness of your diet pills? Using a weight loss supplement like Meridia and want to make sure you get the most out of it? Here are some tips for new fad dieters—a few do’s and don’ts to help you diet effectively and safely.
1. Never dip below 1000 calories in a day, short-term, or 1500 calories a day, long-term. Any diet that requires you to eat less than 1000 calories in a day is probably not a very healthy diet. Your body needs a certain amount of calories in order to survive. It’s calories that give us energy to move around and be active and it’s calories that contain (usually) key nutrients and proteins.
2. You don’t want to starve yourself. Obviously this is related to tip #1—if a diet requires you to starve yourself, it obviously doesn’t have your best interests in mind. Starving yourself may help you squeeze into that dress you’ve been dying to wear, but it will also trick your body into moving into starvation mode. When this happens, your body begins to think that whatever food it gets may be the last, and holds on to it for dear life, making it very hard to lose weight after a certain point. Also, as soon as you reintroduce calories into your diet, you’ll gain back all the weight that you lost extremely quickly.
3. Eat all of your food groups. A diet that cuts carbs completely isn’t good for you. Fruits, after all, are considered carbs because of their sugar content; and it’s important that you eat fruit. Eat all of your food groups every day.
4. Don’t only diet, but exercise too. Easier said than done, I know, but it’s crucial for your metabolism, your happiness, and for the longevity of your weight loss (that is, to lose weight and keep it off) that you exercise regularly.

This is not a fad diet like we usually discuss, but a tip for health that I’d really like to emphasize. Also, since drinking water is compatible with every single diet (fad or otherwise) and is important for people who use diet pills (especially pills like Xenical Generic or Meridia), it’s important to review some of the ways we can make sure to get more water in us…on a regular basis.

Here are ten tips for better water drinking:

Drinking water is not just something you should do when you work out. You should drink 8 cups of water every day, no matter what you’re doing. Even if you are spending all day sitting on the couch doing nothing (which, by the way, is never a good plan). That being said, if you ARE going to be working out, you need to make sure that you drink more than your usually 8 cups.

Drinking water is not just something you do when it’s hot outside. It’s not uncommon for people to get dehydrated when it’s freezing cold out. Because they’re not thirsty, they’re less inclined to drink—but your body still needs those precious 8 cups! Yes, you need to drink more water in the summer, but you still need to drink lots in the winter.

Carry around a water bottle with you at all times.

If you can’t stomach drinking all that water, add some sugar free drink mix to it, like Crystal Light, to make it more palatable.

Water down juices to lower their sugar content and increase their water content.

Eat more soup.

Drink more herbal tea.

Drink LESS coffee! Yes, a cup of coffee has water in it, but it is not hydrating. In fact, for every cup of caffeine that you consume, you should always compensate by drinking two cups of water.

Drink a glass of water when you wake up in the morning and one before you go to bed at night.

Encourage your kids to drink water instead of juice or soda.
