That’s the clincher: In an all-the-chicken-soup you can eat diet, you better make sure that you’ve got an industrial sized bowl, or you’ll end up losing weight by slaving over the stove making a new pot of chicken soup every few hours!

    The Chicken Soup Diet is easy and delicious. You eat breakfast every day and then eat an unlimited amount of chicken soup throughout the day.

    Here are some of the allowed breakfast options:
    • 1 cup of nonfat yogurt with ½ cup fruit salad and a sprinkle of wheat germ and/or ground flaxseeds.
    • 1 cup of ricotta cheese, ½ tsp. sugar, and some cinnamon. Eat with 2 slices of whole-grain bread and three pieces of dried fruit.
    • 1½ cups of a whole-grain cereal (hot or cold) with ½ cup of skim milk. ½ cup of orange juice.
    • 1 small whole-wheat toasted bagel with 1 oz. of fat-free cheese. ½ cup of prune juice.

    The chicken soup recipe is as follows-and it’s so good that you won’t even feel like you’re dieting! Everyone will want to join you in your chicken soup laden path to weight loss!

    2 Tbs. olive oil
    4 celery stalks, sliced (with or without leaves)
    4 parsnips, chopped
    1 turnip, chopped
    1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
    1 Tbs. garlic, chopped
    2 tsp. salt
    ¼ tsp. cayenne pepper
    16 cups of low fat, low sodium, chicken broth
    5 cups (1.5 lbs) of chopped cooked chicken
    16 oz. frozen carrots
    10 oz. frozen broccoli florets
    10 oz. frozen spinach
    1.5 cups frozen chopped onions
    1/3 cup lemon juice
    ¼ cup fresh dill, chopped

    In a large pot heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add celery, parsnips, turnips, jalapeno, garlic, salt, and cayenne. Cook for about 15 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Add broth, chicken, the frozen vegetables, lemon juice, and dill. Bring to a boil and then simmer over low heat for five minutes.

    And there you have it-delicious, quick, and easy soup that will help you lose weight and keep you full and satisfied all day!
