Diet pills? Who needs ‘em if you’ve got breakfast? If you’re like me, then the thought of a big bowl of cold cereal is enough to get you to bounce out of bed in the morning.
If you’re like me, then around 10am you’ll pour yourself another bowl, and then maybe another for lunch, and then in the afternoon…you get the point.
And if it’s not cold cereal, then it’s hot oatmeal, or waffles, or pancakes, or omelets. It’s breakfast food, and it can actually be surprisingly healthy. Consider these Breakfast All Day meals that you can enjoy at any time of the day. To lose weight during this diet, you’ll create 5 meals similar to the ones described below to eat throughout your day. Always supplement by drinking lots of water.
Choose 5 meals similar to these:
• ¾ cup of cereal, 1 cup of skim milk, 1 handful of blueberries or raisins.
• 2 pieces of whole grain toast, 1 tbsp. of 100% fruit jam, 6oz. of fresh squeezed orange juice (with pulp), 1 egg (or 2 egg white) omelet with vegetables.
• ¾ cup of oatmeal with 1/8 cup of slivered almonds, 1 tbsp. flaxseeds, 1/8 cup of raisins or craisins, and ¼ cup of skim milk; one small banana; two slices of turkey bacon.
• 1 large waffle or 3 small pancakes (made with skim milk, whole wheat flour, and Splenda) topped with a thin spread of cottage cheese, fresh fruit (in season), and a sprinkle of walnuts or pecans.
• Make a yogurt smoothie by blending together fat free plain yogurt, fresh berries, banana, and ice; vegetable/herb omelet, and a slice of toast.
You’ll see that this diet is not so vegetable heavy. To make sure that you’re getting enough veggies, at 3 of your 5 meals, make sure you consume 2 servings of vegetables. Always have a side salad available for eating with or after breakfast meals.
