Hollywood sets the fat trend, and today that is slim to none. That is, most Hollywood stars are thin. Thinner than thin. Too thin. And yet that is what we are all striving for.

Here are few things to know about how Hollywood stars get thin, and why a little fat is better than none.

First of all, it’s unattractive to have zero body fat. Any man, woman, and child will tell you that sunken cheeks are scary. Or when you can’t tell the difference between the front of a woman’s body or the back. It’s just not pretty.

Second, many of these women in Hollywood (I think it’s safe to say it’s a woman problem) starve themselves with the help of cigarettes, coffee, Red Bull, and drugs. And we’re not talking about FDA-approved diet pills that they take with the guidance of their doctor.

Lindsey Lohan, cocaine. Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and Nicole Richie, Adderall. Chenbuterol, a drug that treats respiratory diseases in horses, is now on the rise in Hollywood to turn luscious bodies into skeletons. Beyonce lost a ton of weight on the Master Cleanse Diet (two weeks of lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne). Hollywood thin-sters even go so far as to check into a hospital and receive an IV so they can completely avoid eating for a few days. (How doctors allow that to happen is beyond me.)

These people, our so-called role models, think it’s more important to be thin and dangerously unhealthy than it is to be thin and healthy. That’s right—you can have your (low fat) cake and eat it too. Being thin doesn’t mean starvation thin. If you want to lose weight, go to your doctor or nutritionist who can prescribe a healthy diet pill (like Xenical or Phentermine) and recommend a healthy diet plan. Peanuts and Diet Coke is not a diet. Living on hard boiled eggs alone will eventually kill you.
